The Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) in Zimbabwe was formed in 2007 out of the need for the Zimbabwe Vigil to have an organisation on the ground in Zimbabwe to reflect the Vigil’s mission statement to fight for human rights and true democracy (free and fair elections) in Zimbabwe. ROHR is a non-political organisation committed to educating people to achieve real change in the form of justice, peace and freedom in Zimbabwe.

On Saturday 13th February 2016 ROHR Leicester branch held a fundraising event at the Salvation Army Church Hall to raise money to help our branch and its members and to fund our future fundraising events.

Leicester members met at 9 am at the venue to start cooking and decorating the place. Unity, hard work and determination made the preparations for the event a success.

As the event was on the day before Valentine’s Day, and in appreciation of delicious Zimbabwean food, our theme was, ‘Zimbabwean food with love’. The dress code was African wear or valentine colours which many people stuch to impressively. The hall was decorated in red and white and it looked good. The event kicked off at 3pm with people socialising and connecting with those from different branches and organisations.  It was really good networking.
